Black Space Technology – Technology Enhanced Combat Casualty Care

MILITARY TELEHEALTH AND TELEMEDICAL: Software Solutions

Black Space Technology Mobile Telehealth and TeleMedical Solutions
The Android digital platform is easily configurable to civil/military contingency medical needs. This enhances multinational medical coordination, improving operational readiness and interoperability for medical services. The platform allows incremental data capture from point-of-injury using Android devices throughout the Operational Care Pathway, facilitating data transfer between devices and integrated data flow into third-party platforms – ‘One Device – Multiple Scenarios.’

Black Space Technology Products:

Rapid-EPR – A fully automated prehospital care electronic patient record (EPR) system combined with wireless monitoring devices for the real time management of emergencies. It allows incremental data capture from the incident to hospital. In addition, there is optional low bandwidth high-definition videoconferencing. The solution can be hosted in the cloud, Edge, or a ‘walled garden’ environment. The Android platform has the advantages of simpler deployment, easier maintenance, and multinational language interoperability.

2Rapid-MCI – The Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) management system is a real time situational awareness platform that can deal with any injury incident including CBRNE and Multiple MTFAs. This solution was developed with input from the UK Ministry of Defence and RAID (an elite tactical unit of the French National Police). The platform allows real-time situational awareness and allocation of resources to improve casualty management. In addition to a digital METHANE message, it allows the rapid triage of multiple casualties and geolocation of casualties to avoid ‘left behind’ scenarios with the ability to monitor multiple casualties. It matches real time availability of hospital resources with casualty demand to avoid surges and inappropriate transfers.

Rapid-SAM – Rapid Situational Awareness Monitoring (SAM) allows biometric and threat assessment monitoring using wearable devices including CBRNE and environmental sensors. The wearable sensors mitigate against training and environmental risks with vital sign monitoring in the event of injury.

Rapid-ACE – The autonomous casualty evacuation (ACE) system is a casualty pod attached to a Certo CAPSTONE heavy lift UAV. This drone is equipped with a fully autonomous casualty vital sign monitoring system and defibrillator. The solution uses COTS wearables and digital imagery to monitor and detect clinical deterioration in a casualty during any CASEVAC. The Certo CAPSTONE UAV can lift 300kg and fly 300 miles.
